How to deal with gas spring oil leakage

Oil leakage from a gas spring usually means that its seal may be aged or damaged, or there is a problem with the internal pressure system. The treatment method is as follows:

1. Confirm the extent of the oil leakage
- Minor oil leakage: If it is only a small amount of oil stains, the performance of the gas spring may not be greatly affected for the time being, but it still needs to be paid attention to prevent the problem from getting worse.
- Severe oil leakage: If the amount of oil leakage is large, the performance of the gas spring may have been significantly reduced and needs to be repaired or replaced as soon as possible.

2. Cleaning the gas spring
- Use a clean cloth or paper towel to gently wipe off the oil stains on the surface of the gas spring and keep it clean.

3. Check the status of the gas spring
- Appearance inspection: Check whether there is obvious damage, cracks or scratches on the surface of the gas spring.
- Seal inspection: The seal is the most prone to problems. If the seal is found to be aged, cracked or worn, it may need to be replaced.

4. Repair or replace the gas spring
- Repair: If the gas spring is repairable, you can find a professional repairman to replace the seal or perform internal maintenance.
- Replace: If the gas spring cannot be repaired, or the repair cost is too high, it is recommended to replace it with a new gas spring directly.

5. Precautions
- Regular inspection: The gas spring should be inspected regularly during use to ensure that the seal and gas pressure are normal.
- Avoid overloading: Avoid overloading the gas spring to reduce the risk of premature damage.
- Avoid external contamination: Keep the area around the gas spring clean to prevent dust or impurities from entering the gas spring, causing seal wear or oil leakage.
